Our Actions to Help Stop Global Warming

• Quarter 1, 2008 - Solar panels to be installed on the Church office roof and the roof of our Community Preschool.
• November 2007 - solar panel contract signed
• August – October 2007 - consultations with multiple solar panel installation companies
• At the July 8, 2007 Congregational Meeting our church voted to support Going Green by having solar panels installed on both the church offices and on the Community Pre-School.
• June 2007: Congregation meeting authorizes specific solar panel proposal to be developed
• Plans begin for a Lenten Series on Global Warming. Each sunday a different topic will be discussed following worship. Plans begun January 2007
• First bids on solar pannels for the church and preschool come in. December 2006
• 40 children join in the first ever "Kids meeting with the Mayor". They met with the Mayor of Sunnyvale about their concerns related to global warming. November 23, 2006
• Weekly updates on global warming are given each Sunday in church. Started October 2006
• Task team formed to research solar pannels for the church. October 2006
• "An Inconvenient Truth" shown at the church for all in the church and wider community. October 8, 2006
• Bike to work (saving 2800 miles driving a year) - October 4, 2006
• At home replaced old light bulbs with energy efficient ones - October 4, 2006
• Gradually replacing incandescent, with energy saving flourescent bulbs - September 29, 2006
