Aloha from Hanapepe Hawaiian Church! Teddy has had a wonderful time! I have attached a few pictures that tell a little about Teddy's adventures from Sandwich, MA to the Sandwich islands (the former name for the Hawaiian islands!) :) These pictures plus others will also be in his logbook of his travels. Teddy will be sent to Chicago, IL on Thursday to meet new friends at St. John's United Church of Christ. Pastor Charlotte Nold will be hosting Teddy's next leg of the journey. I have sent her this email so she will know a little bit about the process. Best wishes and keep us posted as to Teddy's progress... With much Aloha!..and a hui hou (until we meet again) Pastor Rachel and Hanapepe Hawaiian

Dear Pastor Gen and Kahu Rachel, The children were thrilled to hear on Sunday that Teddy had spent time in Sunnyvale, CA and had already traveled to Hanapepe, HI. I have attached a couple pictures - one of our storyboard & telling the children & adults about Teddy's travels as part of Children's Time on Sunday and the other of the 3rd grade class making cookies on Sunday to sell at Social Hour - the proceeds going to A Baby Center in Hyannis, which supports the needs of mothers & children unable to afford all that is needed when raising infants & toddlers. (During the four weeks of the rotation we sold $133.00 worth of cookies!!!) Kahu Rachel, the children thought it was fine for "Teddy" to stay a bit longer on the Island and loved the fact that "Teddy" will be flying with you to Chicago. Pastor Gen,I was wondering how many children you have in your Wednesday morning Children's Chapel group? Thanks to both of you for your emails and enthusiasm - as I said on Sunday to our congregation, "Church doesn't get much better than this". Blessings, Nancy J. Aloha Nancy and the third grade class of First Church! Teddy has arrived safely in our little town of Hanapepe, HI on the island of Kauai -- one of the Hawaiian islands! My son, Noah and I, Pastor Rachel Schwab, received Teddy with our warmest aloha and gave him a lei ( a flower necklace) when we received him at our post office here near the church. I will send pictures as soon as we can! Teddy will get to participate in worship, help with the food pantry, attend Sunday School, and enjoy our church folks in a variety of ways while here. All the UCC churches here are very connected, and so Teddy will not only meet our folks but other churches and friends around Kauai. We have 12 UCC churches on our island. I wanted to ask if it would be alright if Teddy stayed a few extra weeks with us here. We are having our Association Gathering on Saturday, May 23 and want Teddy to meet all the folks from ALL our UCC churches on Kauai! Then, I was going to personally accompany Teddy to CHicago to his next destination, since we will be on vacation there in June/July, but I will send him off at the end of May so he can have lots of opportunities around our country to see other churches! Thank you for entrusting Teddy to our families around the country. Aloha -- Kahu(Pastor) Rachel Schwab also,,,, By the way, Kahu is the Hawaiian word for Pastor and it means "shepherd" Aloha --means hello and goodbye Mahalo -- means thank you. 'Ohana - means family Keiki --means child
